In Short:

Low ferritin and high blood pressure that don't respond to supplements are often the result of a nervous system stuck in chronic stress — with roots in childhood emotional neglect.

This stress collapses iron metabolism through four mechanisms: Elevated cortisol and inflammation raise hepcidin, which locks the iron away; gut absorption weakens; the cofactors (vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium) run empty; and thyroid function slows — while the heart's own blood-pressure brake (ANP) wears out.

Ferritin can look normal on paper while the body is living in iron-deficiency symptoms.

The solution isn't another supplement — it's dismantling the nervous system's survival state.

In This Episode:

Have you tried everything: iron supplements (even iron infusions) — but your low ferritin levels won't rise? Do you feel constantly exhausted, even though your iron labs look normal? You are not alone.

For many women, low ferritin doesn't resolve even with iron infusions — because it isn't simple iron deficiency but functional iron deficiency: a nervous system wired into chronic alarm locks the iron away from use. Ferritin can look normal in a blood test — but the body can't access the iron, and the symptoms continue.

In this episode Susanna Tanni — founder of REBORN Emotional Alchemy and the TraumaNeuro Method — reveals the invisible, scientifically documented cause behind low ferritin and high blood pressure: childhood emotional neglect and chronic and toxic stress.

You'll hear why ferritin won't rise even when you do everything right — and how a stress-wired nervous system collapses iron metabolism (hepcidin, the gut, the cofactors, the thyroid). This is not in your head. This is measurable physiology.

Keskeiset opit:

  • Low ferritin and high blood pressure can be symptoms of a nervous system stuck in alarm for years — not just "iron deficiency."
  • The roots often lie in childhood emotional neglect and chronic, toxic stress that never returns to baseline.
  • Ferritin collapses through four mechanisms: cortisol and inflammation raise hepcidin (the iron lock), gut absorption weakens, iron's cofactors (vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium) run empty, and thyroid function slows.
  • Functional iron deficiency: ferritin can look normal within reference ranges while the iron is locked away and the symptoms continue.
  • The heart's own blood-pressure brake, ANP, wears out under chronic overload — that's why blood pressure stays elevated and spikes at even the smallest stressors.
  • A supplement or diet alone won't solve this: in an alarm state the body can't put them to use. Lasting change is made at the level of the nervous system.
